Experimental Sound workshop - Microphones

During this session of our experimental sound workshop on the 7th of February we focused on location recording, and discussed the importance of sound with footage. A few examples of sound artists which we have looked at are

Microphone Types

•  Condenser (Electret)

– Highly responsive

– Crisp sound

– Delicate

•  Dynamic

– Sturdy

– Copes well with loud sounds

We were given these microphones to go out and create our own field recordings 

One thing I learned from recording is that you can pick up a lot of wind that can distort the sound a bit.
