Creative Writing task
The first project was to use newspapers and create a new story based on various different stories. I found this task very challenging and creative, as it provides the opportunity to use our creativity and imagination.
The second task we was given the opportunity to select words and from the top of the head
The special moment when the remarkable play maker Bill Gates stepped up to take the shot which will lead Microsoft to a monumental victory over the Sony Soviets and solidify there place in game console football history. It was just moments away Bill Gates grabs his console places it on the docking station and presses a combination of buttons.

Writing as communication
- Communicating your message to the reader/audience
-need to have a reasonable understanding of what you are trying to say
Writing a screenplay
-Idea
-basic story
-Treatment 3-4 pages
-Scene outline
Script without dialogue that describes each scene objective
Screenplay -
Building a structure
-Beginning middle end
-Conflict
-Set up expectations
-build in ambiguity
-Don't resolve everything
-Denouement, whether to tie up the loose ends at the end or not
Character Development
-Story told through main character, discusses troubles etc...
-Should be able to identify character
- Find the characters needed
-Contrasting various characters that can create conflict- makes a story
-Don't stay focused on just one character when working on many other- seek help or advice from other people.
Dialogue
-Better to show than tell
-Using gestures, actions and looks where possible
-Moves the story line forward
-Know how the scenes will end before writing dialogue
-Know the characters motivation
-Conflicts creates best dialogue
-A crafted representation of conversation ?
-Overwrite, cut condense tighten
